Winter Maintenance Check list

Be prepared for winter with Northwood Home Inspections’ Winter Maintenance Check list.

❄️ Shovel snow away from the foundation. This will help prevent any water from seeping into your foundation.

❄️ Remove ice from gutters and roofs. Melted ice can seep into your foundation. Help protect it by removing  the ice and snow with a shovel or scrapper.

❄️ Remove ice from external vents. Extra pressure on these set-ups can lead to moisture problems-and possibly mould or rot in a home’s wooden structure.

❄️ Replace furnace filters. Air filters collect debris and allergens, so replace them every three   months to keep your furnace running effectively, keeping you warm all winter long.

❄️ Protect your outdoor furniture. Put your furniture away for the cold season or cover them up, so that they last for years to come.
